LATERAL READING

What is Lateral Reading?

Lateral Reading is the best strategy for SEPARATING FACT FROM MISINFORMATION:

Get beyond the "About" page!

Open new browser tabs.

Search for information about the unknown source on trusted websites (such as reputable news organizations, and fact-checking sites).

Review what reliable sources say about the unfamiliar online source.

Make decisions about credibility by learning what others have to say about your source.
